Every time we say prayers, little Sophie will fold her arms and when we finish, loudly say, "The End." Mikayla emphatically corrects her by saying, "Not The End, baby Sophs (or Ken if she is wearing the Barbie costume), say Amen! It's not a book!"
We have yet to hear an Amen...

Ken
So we have a "new" member of our family. After watching Toy Story 3 Mikayla became obsessed with Barbie, of all toys. She wears a dress every day that is her Barbie dress and will not answer to anything other than "Barbie". She will only refer to herself as Barbie and heaven forbid if I say the name Mikayla, all you know what breaks loose. But the most hilarious part of this whole thing is that she calls Sophie "Ken". I feel so bad for little Sophie, I swear she is going to have an identity crisis. All day, the only thing we hear is Mikayla yelling from various parts of the house, "Ken! Ken! Come here Ken!" It's even got to the point that in casual conversation she calls Sophie, Ken. "Ken, do you want a snack? Ken do you want to take a nap? Ken, be careful." I just hope by the time this thing is done Sophie will still answer to her real name. She's starting to respond to Ken more often then not.

We're off to see the wizard...
For the past two months, Mikayla has been DYING to be Dorothy for Halloween. I'm not joking. She has talked about it, worn her costume almost daily, and told everyone who would listen, who everyone in the family would be. Mommy is green witch. Daddy is scarecrow and Sophie is Toto.
When it came time to wear the green makeup and look the part, Mikayla didn't want any part of it and instead wanted me to be the "pink witch". In my ever expanding condition, I didn't think a Glinda costume would work so I compromised and put on a fun hat and wore black to be a nicer "green witch". It's not exactly authentic, but it worked. I think my girls make the absolute most cutest Dorothy and Toto.
This year, "Halloween" fell on Steve's birthday so my parents came down to trick or treat with us and then celebrate the big day. It was a fun day and Steve got lots of candy for his b-day! :)
